VM Tech
Terms of Service
Last updated: September 23, 2026
These terms apply when you use VM Tech’s help portal, the VM Tech Remote app, and our remote support. VM Tech serves British Columbia’s Lower Mainland.
We only connect when you click Allow. Every time.
Questions? Call (778) 288-3053 · Is it safe?
1. How our help works
You send a help request (or call us), we reply by chat, and if needed we connect to your computer to fix the problem or show you how.
2. Remote access only with your permission
- Installing VM Tech Remote does not give us permission to use your computer. The app lets us ask to connect. It does not let us in by itself.
- We ask every time. Each time we want to connect, a box pops up on your screen. We can only see or control your computer after you click “Allow”. If you click “Deny”, or don’t answer, we cannot connect.
- We only connect when you asked for help. We never connect out of the blue, and we never call you first asking to get into your computer. If someone does, it isn’t us. Hang up and call us at (778) 288-3053.
- You stay in control. A bar stays on your screen for the whole session. You can watch everything we do and end the session at any time with one click.
- We do only what you asked for. We look only at what we need to fix the problem you asked about, and we ask before doing anything else.
- No unattended access. We never connect while you are away from your computer, unless you ask us in writing to do a specific job at a specific time.
- Record of each session. We keep the date, start and end time, which technician helped you, and a short note of what was done.
- Removing the app. You can uninstall VM Tech Remote at any time (Windows: Settings → Apps; Mac: move it to the Trash), or ask us to remove it for you.
By installing VM Tech Remote and clicking “Allow”, you agree to let the VM Tech technician helping you see and control your computer for that session only.
3. Prices
- Membership: $1.00 a day for homes, $2.00 a day for businesses, billed monthly whether you use it or not. Members pay small amounts for each bit of help instead of a full hour. Homes: remote $15.00 per 15 min; on-site $80.00 first hour, then $20.00 per 15 min. Businesses: remote $20.00 per 15 min; on-site $100.00 first hour, then $25.00 per 15 min.
- Pay as you go: no monthly fee. Homes: remote $60.00 first hour, then $15.00 per 15 min; on-site $90.00 first hour, then $20.00 per 10 min. Businesses: remote $80.00 first hour, then $20.00 per 15 min; on-site $120.00 first hour, then $30.00 per 15 min.
- Applicable taxes (such as GST) are added. We tell you before any work that costs more than you expect.
4. Membership
You can cancel anytime. Cancelling stops future monthly charges; the current month is not refunded.
5. Payment
Payments are processed by Stripe. VM Tech never sees or stores your full card number.
6. Your part
- Keep backups of files that matter to you. We are careful, but repairs can sometimes affect data.
- Use software licences you are allowed to use. We won’t install pirated software.
- Tell us the truth about what’s wrong so we can help safely.
- Only click “Allow” when you asked VM Tech for help and you are ready for us to connect.
- Close anything private (banking, personal photos, other people’s information) before you click “Allow”, unless we need it for the fix.
7. Our responsibility
We do our best work with care. We are not responsible for problems that already existed, for loss of data you did not back up, for issues caused by third-party software or hardware, or for anything done on your computer outside a session you allowed. Our responsibility for any session is limited to the amount you paid for that session.
8. Ending service
We may refuse or stop a session that is unsafe, abusive, or asks us to do something illegal.
9. Changes
We may update these terms and prices. The date at the top shows the latest version. Price changes apply to work done after the change.
10. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia and Canada.
